Refurbished iPad Pro questions answered

Yes, a refurbished iPad Pro is worth it. Models from the M1 (2021) to the M5 (2025) are available well below new retail prices, professionally inspected, tested, and restored by Zaltova's vetted sellers. Every device comes with a 1-year commercial warranty, 30 days to change your mind, and a choice of condition grades (Fair, Good, Excellent, or Premium), all with the same buyer protections.
The refurbished iPad Pro is available from the M1 (2021) to the M5 (2025) on Zaltova. Here's how to choose:
iPad Pro M5 (2025): compare current configurations, availability and prices
iPad Pro M4 (2024): Ultra Retina XDR display (Tandem OLED), thinnest iPad Pro ever, Apple Intelligence support
iPad Pro M2 (2022): Wi-Fi 6E and ProRes video; compare current prices by screen size and configuration
iPad Pro M1 (2021): compare current prices for an M-chip iPad Pro
A-series models (2015 to 2018): compare current prices; iPadOS compatibility varies by model
M1 and M2 suit everyday tasks and creative work. M4 and M5 are built for power users and laptop-replacement setups. Our iPad buying guide goes deeper on each generation.
All three share ProMotion 120Hz, Apple Pencil (2nd gen) support, and Stage Manager multitasking, but the differences are meaningful:
iPad Pro M4 (2024): Ultra Retina XDR display (Tandem OLED), thinnest design ever, Apple Intelligence, up to 16GB RAM
iPad Pro M2 (2022): Liquid Retina XDR, Wi-Fi 6E, ProRes video, Apple Pencil hover detection, up to 16GB RAM
iPad Pro M1 (2021): Liquid Retina XDR, Thunderbolt/USB 4, first M-chip iPad Pro, up to 16GB RAM
Short version: choose M4 for OLED and future-proofing, M2 for the best display-to-value ratio, and M1 for the most affordable M-chip entry.
Refurbished status has zero impact on software updates. What matters is the chip, not the purchase history. All M1, M2, M4, and M5 iPad Pro models are fully supported by iPadOS 26. iPad Pro models from 2018 (A12X Bionic) onward are also compatible. The 2017 model (A10X Fusion) and older are not supported by iPadOS 26. Apple Intelligence requires an M1 chip or newer. For more detail, see can a refurbished iPad get iOS updates.
The iPad Pro delivers more on spec: ProMotion 120Hz across all models, Ultra Retina XDR (Tandem OLED) on M4 and M5, ProRes video, a Thunderbolt port (M1 and newer), and a 13-inch size option. The iPad Air is lighter, more affordable, and handles everyday tasks and light creative work with ease.
Choose iPad Pro for video editing, graphic design, and heavy multitasking
Choose iPad Air for note-taking, browsing, productivity, and most everyday use cases
A refurbished iPad Pro M1 or M2 can cost the same as a new iPad Air, delivering significantly more performance per dollar.

Yes, and the difference is measurable. Based on Zaltova's calculations using data from French environmental agency ADEME, choosing a refurbished tablet instead of buying new avoids:
88% less greenhouse gas emissions vs. manufacturing a new tablet
65 kg of CO2e avoided per device
83% less e-waste generated (approximately 400g avoided per device)
99% less natural resource consumption (approximately 290 kg of resources avoided)
Every refurbished iPad Pro you buy extends the life of existing hardware and cuts demand for new device manufacturing.

What is a refurbished iPad Pro?

A refurbished iPad Pro is a device that's been professionally inspected, tested, and restored to full working order by one of Zaltova's vetted sellers. It runs exactly as it should, at a significantly lower price than new. The only variable is cosmetic condition, which is what the grade is for: Fair, Good, Excellent, or Premium, all with the same protections.

Every refurbished iPad Pro on Zaltova includes a 1-year commercial warranty and 30 days to change your mind. Every device is 100% functional, regardless of which grade you choose.

Which refurbished iPad Pro should you buy?

Zaltova carries iPad Pro models from the A-series (2015 onward) right up to the current M5 (2025). Here's how the main generations stack up:

iPad Pro M1 (2021): the most affordable M-chip entry point. Thunderbolt/USB 4, Liquid Retina XDR (12.9-inch), Center Stage, full iPadOS 26 support.
iPad Pro M2 (2022): the sweet spot for most buyers. Wi-Fi 6E, ProRes video recording, Apple Pencil hover detection. Starts well below the $799 new retail price.
iPad Pro M4 (2024): for video editors, designers, and laptop-replacement users. Ultra Retina XDR (Tandem OLED) display, Apple Intelligence, thinnest iPad Pro ever. Starts well below $999 new.
iPad Pro M5 (2025): compare current configurations, availability and prices.

Not sure if iPad Pro is what you need? The refurbished iPad Air covers most everyday tasks at a lower price point.

Why buy a refurbished iPad Pro from Zaltova?

Zaltova is a curated marketplace. Every seller is vetted against a strict Quality Charter, and every device goes through a professional inspection before it ships. Your consumer protections are the same whether you pick a Fair-grade iPad Pro or a Premium M4.

There's a genuine environmental argument, too. Buying a refurbished tablet instead of a new one avoids up to 88% of the greenhouse gas emissions tied to device manufacturing, equivalent to 65 kg of CO2e per device, based on Zaltova's own calculations using data from French environmental agency ADEME.
