Two things I cannot recommend enough: Sennheiser headphones and Zaltova refurbished electronics. I spent quite a bit of time researching which ANC set would suit me best and decided on the PXC 550-ii. (Sound guys and RTings both have very useful tests and explanations for rating ANC headphones.) At 165, I have a headset with hi fidelity audio as well as impressive noise cancellation. This is my first noise cancelling set. I was a bit disappointed at first but after doing research I learned that with current tech it’s really almost impossible to cancel beyond 60db. So, in a louder environment, you will notice it seems further away and quieter, but you will still hear what exceeds 60db. Low end hum almost completely annihilated by this set; higher hz audio still tends to pass through more. But, as someone with sensory difficulties, my quality of life has improved a lot by wearing these almost every waking hour. I’ve purchased a few times from Zaltova for cellphones, in ear headphones, and now over ear. Each time I’ve been very happy.

The product showed up practically new for about half the price. So far it has been working great. It has a bit too much low end, but you can do a little adjustment with the app. Not a full EQ, mind, but enough to make decent adjustments. The microphone is not amazing but it is functional. The noise canceling works pretty well and I really enjoy the transparency feature as well. Comfortable enough on the head to wear for hours. All in all very happy with my purchase.

Sounds good, neutral sound which is what I wanted, EQ adjustments do a pretty good job when you want some ear blowing bass. Decent amount of noise leakage, with the volume above about halfway up you will really notice it. The touch controls on the earcup are also really cool. The folding of the headphones to turn them off is a bit weird, but it isn’t terrible, and actually works great when you have them around your neck, since they turn on and pair back really fast. When connecting the headphones via the aux cable, though the microphone doesn’t work because it goes through Bluetooth, which sucks because they don’t provide an analog microphone to solve this issue. Also, the sennheiser app for them is trash. I just use Spotifys trash EQ settings when I need to and it does the trick. Other than that though, I definitely have no regrets getting these headphones.

Overall I like these headphones. They are very comfortable and the case they come with is very nice and I think it and all the cords/accessories are new from the manufacturer. As others have pointed out, Sennheiser does their own refurbs which I really like and respect. Also the sound quality is very good; I've even noticed new sounds in songs I'm very familiar with due to the upgrade in sound quality vs my in-ear headphones. I will say, though, these headphones are not as noise-cancelling as I would have hoped. But to be fair my expectations may not have been realistic as these are my first pair of true noise-cancelling headphones. Maybe 100% silence is not possible/does not exist with any headphones. I write code for work and sit near someone who is on the phone for a significant portion of the day and unfortunately I can still hear him even with the active noise cancellation and some background music playing on Spotify, which is disappointing as that was my #1 reason for buying them. Also, I find the touchpad on the headphones to be somewhat buggy. I had an issue where my music would randomly pause without any intentional input from me. But in the Sennheiser app I turned off the auto-pause feature and that seemed to solve the problem. Maybe my hair or me moving my head was triggering the auto-pause. Another minor bug is that the mute command on the touch pad doesn't work for me when I'm in Teams meetings for work.
