Refurbished Samsung phones questions, answered

Yes, a refurbished Samsung phone is worth it. Every device passes a thorough professional inspection and comes with a 1-year warranty and a 30-day return window. You get the full Samsung software experience, including Galaxy AI on S24 and S25 models, for up to 70% less than retail. The Galaxy S, A, and Z series are all available.
The best choice depends on your budget and what you need the phone for:
Galaxy S series (S21, S22, S23, S24, S25): flagship performance and premium cameras; the S24 and S25 include Galaxy AI features
Galaxy A series (A53, A54, A55): reliable everyday performance at more accessible price points
Galaxy Z series (Z Fold, Z Flip): foldable screens for power users
Most refurbished Samsung phones listed as Unlocked on Zaltova are compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile. Verizon compatibility varies by model, so check the individual product listing before buying. Each listing clearly shows carrier status (Unlocked or carrier-specific), so there are no surprises at checkout.
Zaltova has four condition grades for refurbished Samsung phones. Every grade guarantees 100% functionality, at least 80% battery health, and a factory reset before shipping:
Fair: visible wear marks; fully functional in every way
Good: light scratches; fully functional
Excellent: minimal cosmetic wear, close to new in appearance
Premium: almost no signs of use, with only genuine manufacturer parts and batteries (minimum 90% battery capacity).
A higher grade means better cosmetics and battery health, at a higher price point. See the full grade descriptions on the Zaltova quality page.
Zaltova is a dedicated marketplace for refurbished tech. Every order of refurbished smartphones on Zaltova includes:
Savings of up to 70% vs. retail
A 1-year commercial warranty from the seller, on every purchase
30 days to change your mind, with free returns
Sellers vetted against Zaltova's Quality Charter
A thorough up to 100-point professional quality inspection on every device before shipping
Yes. Choosing a refurbished Samsung phone instead of buying new generates 92% less greenhouse gas emissions during the manufacturing phase, according to the ADEME 2022 study. Roughly 80% of a smartphone's carbon footprint happens before it's ever switched on. Every refurbished phone sold is an existing device getting a second life, which means fewer new devices manufactured and less e-waste generated.

Why buy a refurbished Samsung smartphone

When you shop refurbished, you're likely getting some of the best deals and discounts on devices that perform like-new. At Zaltova, customers typically save 30-70% off on average compared to the price of new when they buy a certified refurbished Samsung phone. All refurbished devices on our marketplace have been fully reconditioned, repaired (if necessary), cleaned and thoroughly tested to the same standards as a new one. This is the biggest difference between buying a used or pre-owned Samsung phone compared to a refurbished one.

If saving money isn't a big enough benefit for you, consider that buying a renewed Samsung is also a much friendlier environmental option compared to buying new. That's because these used phones are kept out of our landfills and renewed for a second life, so you'll be helping to reduce electronic waste and your carbon footprint when you shop refurbished.

Best place to buy a refurbished Samsung phone

You'll find the biggest selection, highest product quality and lowest prices on restored Samsung phones at Zaltova. That's because we specialize specifically in refurbished tech and take the time to carefully vet every seller on our marketplace to ensure customers are getting reliable devices that perform like-new. We have over 2,000 Samsung phones to choose from with price ranges to fit almost anyone's budget.

Staying true to our brand, we're also a huge advocate for environmental change. In fact, at the beginning of 2023, we hit a milestone for preventing 1 million tons of carbon emission (CO2) from entering the atmosphere. You can help contribute to a better circular economy when you shop Samsung deals on our platform.

Samsung phone warranty and return policy

All Samsung device purchases on Zaltova come with free standard shipping, a 1-year warranty, and a 30-day money-back guarantee. We want to make sure you can shop with confidence and find the best Samsung phone for your needs at lower prices.

What to expect when buying a refurbished Samsung smartphone

If this is your first time buying refurbished, you might not be sure what to expect from your purchase. First, understand that your phone may have external cosmetic flaws depending on the condition you choose (Zaltova offers devices of Fair, Good and Excellent quality). However, whatever the condition, any external blemishes will not affect your smartphone performance and you can expect your device to perform as if it were newly opened directly from the Samsung Store. You should also be confident that your Samsung phone is backed by a 1-year warranty, meaning in the rare case that any defects arise (outside of accidental damage) within 12 months of your delivery date, then you're entitled to your choice of a repair, replacement or reimbursement.

Samsung Galaxy Trade In

If you already have a Samsung that you're looking to replace, consider trading it into Zaltova to give you a little extra budget for your next upgrade. We make the process simple for you, and we'll give you a free online quote when you answer a few easy questions about your current phone model.
